Behind the scenes of Thame.net

Thame.net has been keeping the local community informed since 1998 and ranks well in popular search engines for all many different keywords relating to Thame.

Laura took over the role of owner and editor from Sonja Francis. Laura relaunched Thame.net in January 2021, she invested a fair amount of time and money, she would love to keep it free from random adverts that most other sites have, which usually covers the cost of running the site. Although adverts can help with the running costs it can also add to a cluttered look, they can carry scam adverts and make the site run slower. Laura wanted the best experience for yourselves but sadly this could mean running at a loss.
Laura is an enthusiastic Thame resident, wife, mother and pet owner. Laura has over 15 years in marketing experience and is the current owner and editor of Thame.net

I, Danielle, am a keen crafter, I have specific interest in animal care, media, design and positive mental health. I love to help others when and where I can.
Laura invited me to join writing for Thame.net in November 2021, where I created the Rescue Centres near Thame post as my first post, and I’ve enjoyed it since.
Since then Laura became a mother and handed the reins of the social media platform to me in October 2022.

Jessica is a business owner and mother who joined us in October 2022 and occasionally helps us with posts, her first article was her sustainable wedding article, of which she has her own business designing eco-friendly bridalwear, for the conscious bride who is passionate about sustainability and ethics, and who questions materials and methods of production.

We are volunteers and have nothing to do with the local council but may have connections in certain areas.
We do this for the love of Thame and the local community.
We always appreciate positive feedback and polite criticism. We are only human at the end of the day and appreciate ideas and if you let us know if something may need changing.

We do have posts that are shared by other businesses and individuals which we hope improves your experience too.
You would usually find the author of the post visible at the bottom of each individual article on the Author display, when it is behaviouring!

Events Calendar (FREE to add!)

We introduced the events calendar in late July 2022 and it seems to be fairly successful, this is completely free for you to add your event and if it is local or online, you are welcome to send the details over social media or to danielle@thame.net and I’ll try and add your event as soon as possible.

It helps to include a square image for your calendar photo and you are welcome to add a poster or pictures for the actual page. Location, price, time and date should also be specified for more accuracy. All event posts expire a day after they have ended.

Advertising

You are more than welcome to discuss advertising with Laura, we offer packages and there is a varied selection of what you’d like and how you can advertise.

  • Social media posts
  • Banner adverts (homepage or specific categories)
  • Business articles
  • And more.

To discuss it further please contact us via the contact form, phone our number supplied on our social media platforms or contact laura@thame.net directly.

Charities

We would love to give more to the local charities, currently 2% of any profits go to local charities, sadly sometimes we run at a loss, but we would love to be able to give more, to yourselves and charities.

We would also love to introduce event squares, where we can put a simple image together for you and your events for a small donation of your choice towards our charity donations, it would be up to you how much you’d like to donate but there will be a suggested donation.
More details to come.
