There is a lot of excitement building ahead of the launch of Thame Radio this New Years Eve!

What to expect from Thame Radio

Thame Radio will consist of a wide variety of shows from local people that help to share expertise from the area, talk about what’s going on in the community as well as playing some great music.

Here’s an update on shows that have been confirmed and how you can still get involved.

Confirmed shows

The Breakfast Show

All the fun, talk and music you’d expect from a radio breakfast show! This show will run from 6-9am during the week and be presented by Steve and Annie who have been the core team behind bringing Thame Radio to life. Plans for the weekend show are being confirmed shortly – watch this space.

Feature shows

The regular feature shows will consist of a mixture of talk and music. Local people and groups with specialist information share their expertise in between some great music.

Feature shows, so far, consist of:

  • Thame Museum
  • Thame Players – Tony Long talking about all things theatre
  • Wombles – environmental concerns
  • The Juice Squad – Saturday 12-2 highlighting life as a teenager
  • Church Services from different churches each week
  • Mental health focus
  • Alternative and complementary health
  • People’s views – taking on board your views and helping to uncover the facts about what’s happening in the town

Want to host a feature show?

If you’d like to run a feature show slot then let the team know. You’ll be given all of the support and training you need to bring your expertise to life on a regular slot for Thame Radio. Contact info@thameradio.com.

Music shows

Local music enthusiasts will be sharing music from a variety of eras and genres from 7pm each day. Music shows confirmed so far include the 60s, the 70s, Motown, northern soul, poetry and music fusion, the 90s and 90s dance and trance.

Local music focus

On a Thursday night, there will be a local music focus session. Any local band or artist wishing to be played on the show can get in touch via bands@thameradio.com.

Once a month, Thame Radio will also be bringing you a ‘Listen again’ show recorded at the First Thursday Music Club. You’ll be able to enjoy the brilliant music and open mic sessions from The First Thursday Music Club along with interviews and chats with the artists themselves.

Getting involved

The team are keen to continue growing the variety of shows they offer and would love to hear your ideas. All training and support will be given so don’t be shy if you’re put off by the organisational side of things – if you have an idea/topic/area of interest and can happily talk about it then get in touch.

The team are particularly keen to speak with anyone available to host daytime shows or be involved in outdoor broadcasts. But if you want to be involved in any way then please let the team know by emailing info@thameradio.com.
