PAUL’S LEGACY, SUPPORTING JDRF WHO SUPPORT CHILDREN WITH DIABETES

Paul’s Legacy is a family driven event, not only to remember Paul & his journey with diabetes, but to raise money and awareness in his honour.

JDRF is all about helping kids and families dealing with type 1 diabetes, something that really hit home for Paul’s family. JDRF provide crucial resources and fund research that gives hope to millions facing this tough condition.

Paul tackled type 1 diabetes since he was a child.
Despite the constant challenges, Paul’s character and smile always shone bright.
On March 31st, 2014, their worst fears came true. Paul had slipped into a diabetic coma, alone and helpless. An empty insulin pen lay nearby, a tragic reminder of his struggle. At only 24 years old, Paul was taken from us, a beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend.

As we near the 10-year mark since he left us, we’re banding together to support JDRF, a cause close to our hearts.
Let’s honour Paul’s memory by raising funds for JDRF. Whether you chip in a donation or join them for their fundraising event, every bit helps in the fight against diabetes.

‘He was only 24 when he passed so if we raise enough to help just one person it will be a massive achievement.

We are also looking for volunteers if you have a couple of hours to spare on Sunday.
Please pop in if you have some time.
Many thanks Jackie’

Fundraising Cause:
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
Every contribution brings us one step closer to creating a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s important to know that someone new is diagnosed with diabetes every two minutes.

TYPE 1 DIABETES IS A CONDITION WHERE THE BODY DOESN’T PRODUCE INSULIN, A HORMONE NEEDED TO REGULATE BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS PEOPLE WITH TYPE 1 DIABETES REQUIRE REGULAR INSULIN INJECTIONS TO STAY ALIVE.

You can donate via their JustGiving Page and read more about Paul’s story. You can also check out more information about JDRF on their website.

Back when Paul was diagnosed, there was minimal support available for him and our parents. Fortunately, today, the landscape is different…’

‘Thank you in advance, we extend our heartfelt thanks to anyone considering donating. Losing Paul shattered our world, but if our efforts can help just one person survive and lead a full life, his passing will not have been in vain. Your support means the world to us.’ – Toni Baron via JustGiving
