Getting outside can be amazing for both physical and mental health.
Being outside and getting some sun should help you naturally get vitamin D, which is essential to helping us absorb the calcium our body needs to build and maintain our bones. With that, also the fresh air and exercise can be so rewarding, giving us some time to explore and take part in outdoor activities we might like to try.

There is so much you can do in the outdoors, from creative things such as building sand castles and sand art at the beach or in a sand pit.
Getting some paper, crayons and enjoying, creating and collecting different textures by creating rubbings, you can even get creative by building a den. To different outdoor sports such as football, rounders or even horse riding, jumping and dressage.
You’ve also got exercise, the most common being walking, power/speed walking, jogging, running and cycling, which can help clear your mind and keep you fit at the same time.

You do not need to do anything strenuous; you could just enjoy some camping or even some simple gardening.

If you are near water, there are lots of outdoor water sports and even some boating activities.

How about visiting some local attractions? You could find a local National Trust garden to explore and enjoy or even participate in some orienteering. Or would some beautiful photography and/or bird watching be more your activity of choice?
There are places where you can enjoy some adventure courses that may include rock climbing and abseiling, or you can create your own obstacle courses at home.

Animals can also play a huge part in us getting outside, as dogs need walking and you can even go foraging for weeds and fruit for your small furbabies or even your insect pets, or just forage for yourself. There are some great blackberry bushes and other things to forage around – just make sure wherever you go, you are allowed to forage and it is free from pesticides or infestation. It is always good to give everything a thorough wash before cooking, giving or consuming.

Hopefully you will all have a great day outdoors on Sunday and don’t forget to have fun!
