THAME Players return to The Elms this July, for another outdoor Shakespeare production, following their highly successful production of Much Ado About Nothing there two years ago.

This time, the ‘Players are staging one of Shakespeare’s best-known tragedies, Macbeth. The director, Chris Parker, said: “The play is set in eleventh-century Scotland when life was brutal, hard and short but never simple. Macbeth demonstrates the impact of human frailty and the overwhelming lust for power on complex characters caught up in a tempest of their own making, set against a backdrop of mysticism and witchcraft. Macbeth is a compelling story told by our greatest playwright, and Thame Players are looking forward to portraying it in the superb setting of The Elms.”

Chris told thame.net that casting is still underway and anyone who is interested in auditioning for a part in Macbeth should get in touch with him as soon as possible on 07831 696849 or at chrisparker02@gmail.com.
Thame Players are also looking for volunteers to help with lighting and sound, and with front of house activities such as helping at the bar and selling programmes – so if you have some free time in July and would like to contribute to a fantastic drama event, get in touch with Steve Lambell on 07958 719397 or at slambell59@gmail.com.

Independent Mortgae Solutions (RGB) - R1Thame Players’ production of Macbeth will be held at The Elms, Upper High Street, Thame, for five evening performances and one Saturday matinee performance from Tuesday, July 5 to Saturday, July 9, inclusive.
