18/12/12….Christmas waste – your handy guide
WHEN it comes to clearing up over Christmas, do you wonder whether wrapping paper can go in the recycling bin, or what the hell do you do with those string nets the satsumas come in?
Well, South Oxfordshire District Council, which is responsible for disposing of our waste, has got together with its contractor, Biffa, and produced a very handy guide to efficient and ‘green’ disposal of Christmas rubbish.
It’s all here – which bin to put the inner tray of that box of chocolates in, and where to put the turkey carcass after you’ve had it cold, curried and ‘wizzed up’ into soup, and the change in schedule for collection times over the festive period.
And when it’s all over, there are even suggestions of how to recycle the Christmas tree.
Happy Christmas!
