11/05/13…..Time is running out for the runaway bride

A Thame bride-to-be is currently trying to get as far as she can away from a secret location, in 24 hours, with just a ‘tenner’! And if she succeeds she will be able to bring over her relatives from her native Australia for her own wedding.

Alex Wynn, who works in sales and promotional risk management in Chilton, just outside Thame, has got to the final two of the Runaway Bride competition being run by Mix 96, getting there by votes from friends and colleagues.

Alex’s fiance is Matt Baker, a Thame piano teacher. He told ThameNews.Net: “Alex is Australian but moved over here to live with me in 2009. We got engaged on her birthday 18 months ago and haven’t been able to plan for the wedding because of the financial costs involved in an ‘International Wedding’ and we really want her family to be here as well as mine. So winning the wedding would mean the world as we can help Alex’s family and friends to come over.”

About an hour ago, Alex who had bagged a seat on a train bound for Perth (Perth, Scotland – not Australia).
