09/05/13….Rotary Stroke Awareness Day in Thame continues to save lives!
AS a result of a potentially life-saving, Stroke Awareness event in Thame, 10 people were referred to their doctors for further investigation.
The Rotary Club of Thame and the Rotary Club of Haddenham & District organised another successful Stroke Awareness Day at tbe Cooperative Supermarket in Thame, on Saturday 27 April.
Over 80 people benefited from the free blood pressure check and 10 of these were referred to their doctors for further investigation. Over the past 10 years the Stroke Awareness Days have saved lives of hundreds people by detecting high levels of blood pressure and thus preventing strokes.
Spokesman for Thame Rotary, Marius Ciortan, said: “The two Rotary Clubs are grateful to the manager and staff of the Cooperative Supermarket in Thame who hosted the event, and to the volunteer paramedics and nurses who kindly gave up their time to check the blood pressure of members of the public.”
