27/06/13…..Siberian Soprano to light up Thame
ROYAL Academy Opera star Anna Gorbachyova will be lighting up Thame next Saturday (July 6t) with her stunning interpretation of Haydn?s Nelson Mass.
Famous for the ?fireworks? demanded of the soloist, the work is perfect for the Russian Soprano who is renowned for her faultless technical virtuosity.
She will be singing with Lord Williams?s Festival Chorus (LWFC), a community choir which has gained a name for itself by staging concerts to an extraordinary standard. The conductor is John Gibbons.
Choir chair Claire Humphries says: ?We are thrilled to have Anna singing with us again. We?re an un-auditioned amateur choir, and our concerts usually feature both classics and beautiful, lesser-known works. As well as the Haydn on Saturday, the programme will include Vaughan Williams? sublime Benedicite, and Bach?s much-loved Double Violin Concerto.”
The concert will start at 7.30pm at Thame Leisure Centre, Oxford Road. Tickets cost
