23/11/10….Housebuilder helps keep Thame’s school children safe

LOCAL housebuilder, David Wilson Homes is helping Thame?s children stay safe while walking to and from school this winter by donating over 500 high visibility vests to local primary schools in the area.

The Company, which launches its Windmill Place development on Windmill Road in the New Year, has delivered vests to pupils at Barley Hill Primary School, St Joseph?s Catholic School and John Hampden County Primary School.

Paul Moran, Sales Director for David Wilson Homes Southern comments: ?It is great to see so many of Thame?s school children staying healthy by walking to school. David Wilson Homes takes safety seriously and as the darker nights draw in we hope these jackets will help them stay seen and stay safe.?

Head teacher at Barley Hill Primary School Mr John Hulett commented: ?We are delighted with this donation of vests from David Wilson Homes. Where possible, we always encourage our pupils to walk to school in a safe and sensible fashion, so this donation of vests is gratefully received.?

A recent study has shown that in walking to and from school improves the children?s health. Evidence revealed it reduced stress and by simply walking one mile a day minimised increases in blood pressure and heart rates in later life.
