Thame and District Day Centre, a registered charity meets three days a week at the town?s Community Hospital and provides day care, entertainment, a hot lunch and friendship for isolated, frail and elderly people in the area.
It relies heavily on the help of volunteers and of these Gill said: “We need more, and especially at the moment, drivers. I would love to hear from anyone who might be able to help if they ring me on 212080 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays.”
Norman Brand, a former volunteer driver for many years and Secretary of the Day Centre Trustees, said: “I love doing this work. One of the happy results of it is that I can?t walk into town or visit any shop without meeting someone I know. That means a very great deal to me.”
