Happy Birthday Thame Chamber Choir!

THAME Chamber Choir’s twentieth anniversary year continues with a concert which will celebrate the choir’s achievements since its foundation in 1999.

A highlight last ear was the choir’s collaboration with The Coull String Quartet, whose leader, Roger Coull, is well known to Thame audiences through his appearances as guest conductor with the Crendon Chamber Orchestra, and whose cellist, Nick Roberts, is a Thame resident.

This collaboration will continue on Saturday, July 6, in St Mary’s Church, Thame, with a concert, Sweets of Sin: Mozart and More, featuring music for choir and quartet by Mozart and others, including Mozart’s sublime Ave Verum Corpus, as well as one of Mendelssohn’s finest string quartets.

Anything could happen in the second half of the concert in which the choir will revisit some of its favourite popular song arrangements from its first 20 years.

Tickets are available from The Book House, Thame, on-line from www.wegottickets.com, and at the door.
