Battery recycling system to be considered by town council

THAME Town Council is to consider installing a Battery recycling point in the Information Centre at the town hall.

The Government has set new targets to increase the recycling of batteries to 25% by 2012 (the current level is 2.8%)and so hundreds of battery recycling points are being set up all over the country.

The recommendation for the setting up of the collection point, made by the Planning and Environment committee of the town council, will go to full council at its next meeting.
