2008 Scenic Calendar Give-Away
THE Chilterns Conservation Board is giving away 20 FREE copies of the 2008, Discover the Scenic South East and East of England Calendar on a first-come- first-served basis.
The Scenic South East and East of England calendar, produced for the very first time this year, includes stunning imagery from the 12 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs) and one National Park in this part of England.
Our AONBs contain some of Britain?s best countryside for walking, cycling, horse riding and wildlife watching. From quiet lanes, ancient woodlands, distinctive and attractive villages, to flower-filled grasslands, historic parkland, dramatic coastlines and more, the AONBs of the south east and east include almost every aspect of Britain?s countryside.
The 2008 calendar has been produced by the National Association for Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (NAAONB). The Chilterns appears on the page for August with some stunning photos of local landscapes and wildlife.
Claire Forrest, Information and Interpretation Officer for the Chilterns Conservation Board, said: ?The Chilterns ?bagged? August in the 2008 calendar. This month is particularly appropriate for the AONB as this is a great time to enjoy the flower-covered grassland on the hilltops of the Chilterns.?

FACTS
The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) was designated in 1965, covers 833 sq kms (326 sq miles) stretching from Goring, in Oxfordshire, to near Hitchin, in Hertfordshire, and has a resident population of 80,000.
The Conservation Board was set up following the passing of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act, 2000, to conserve and enhance the natural beauty and increase awareness and understanding of the Chilterns AONB. The Board, which also aims to foster the social and economic well being of local communities, is supported by all local authorities in the area and by Natural England, The National Trust and The Chiltern Society.
