Unstoppable Keavy Takes Kickboxing First
PHIL Keavy, of Chinnor Kung-fu and Kickboxing Club, was in unstoppable form taking first place in the Bristol Superleague last Sunday (June 11).
With a well deserved display of points fighting, Phil
looks set to dominate his catergory, novice men under
70kg.
There were four fighters from the Chinnor club in this round of the Superleague, including Nick Portnall making his debut, scoring some points and gaining his first experience of competitive fighting.
Dan Portnall, also on his first competition, managed to take the lead in his fight, but his lack of experienced meant he was unable to hold the lead and lost 6-4.
Keiran Calvert again took third place, equalling
his last event, and continues to develop in his
catergory, boys over 5ft 5ins.
Sifu, Duncan Elliott, said: “The team, to be called The Lionhearts, is evolving and will take shape in the coming months. Well done to all fighters from
Chinnor Kung-fu and Kickboxing Club.
