ROBERT Perkins had the audience rocking in their seats at Thame Cinema 4 All recently, when he spoke about his Hollywood experiences, as star and co-writer of “Close Encounter”.
From his successful switch to Business Class on the plane when flying out, to his naive delight in eating in restaurants with the stars, the audience were taken into Robert’s confidence and had a real insider’s view of life as a film maker in Hollywood. Cathy Gaulter Carter and Graham and Cecilia Fry enjoyed meeting him afterwards and hearing more of his anecdotes. His co-writer Eugene Grobler and Jeremy Palmer, the technical manager of the cinema club, discussed the technical details of projecting from a DVD a film that had been shot on a full size movie camera.

The cinema club is now preparing for its Christmas extravaganza of The Sound of Music. This popular family favourite will be shown on Friday, 23 December at 7.00, doors open 6.30. Unusually tickets are available ahead of time, at
