More Winners From The Carnival
THE hardest working entry in the carnival has to be the ‘Make Poverty History’ entry which won the Mobile section with their caribbean theme drumming, dancing and costumes, including Thame’s Story-teller, Margie Barbour, complete with little ‘baby’ jiggling about in her mamma’s wrap around waist cloth.
She danced the whole way from the start of the procession in Dormer Road, to the Southern Road Recreation Ground, and equally heroic were the women and young girls who carried buckets of water on their heads the whole distance.
