I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone in the community.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span>As a growing market town, many people pull together and help others out when and where they can. <\/span>
<\/span>I am always saddened to hear of crimes, vandalism or upset around the area or to hear of people struggling whether it be financially, physically, mentally or in any other way. <\/span>
<\/span>BUT I am always absolutely amazed and ever so grateful, by the frequent positivity, the help and heroes we have around the area; I know there must be many unreported or discussed occasions too.<\/span><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” min_height=”35.9px” custom_padding=”||0px|||”][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” type=”4_4″ theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″ min_height=”34px”]

A big thank you to those that are helping keep Thame tidy, whether it is weeding or disposing of things correctly, even if it wasn\u2019t yours to clean up in the first place.<\/span>
<\/span>I\u2019ve recently seen lots of people reporting litter, clearing up litter or food waste from bin collection days, even other people\u2019s animal waste and sadly the fly tipping and broken glass. <\/span>
<\/span>Those that go out of their way to go litter picking in their spare time or even if you have retrieved debris from the roads. <\/span>

Just passing someone on the street and saying good morning or a passing smile, this could be that only person\u2019s interaction for the day, so make it a positive one. There have also been many thank you messages on local social media groups, thanking people for helping them up or their relatives, whether you slipped on the icy pavements or tripped up a curb or even taken ill, there are lots of helpful and friendly people in Thame that have helped fellow residents. <\/span>
<\/span>It is lovely to see people also asking and making sure they are okay after the incident.<\/span>

Social media is also fantastic for people posting up missing items or found items and even those helping to locate missing animals. Without you all sharing and posting, some animals wouldn\u2019t have made it home, sadly some may have already passed but that can mean a family will then know where their animals are and can stop the worry and searching. <\/span>

We have some gorgeous views in and around the area and some of these areas we have the farmers and landowners to thank, giving us access to their land and I\u2019m sure they thank you too for picking up after your animals, taking your litter home and closing the gates behind you. We\u2019ve also had reports when some of the animals have made it out or flooding on their land of which they have thanked us for reporting it promptly and enabling them to resolve the issue.<\/span><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” custom_padding=”||1px|||”][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” type=”4_4″ theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]

NEIGHBOURLY<\/h3>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” custom_padding=”||0px|||”][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” type=”4_4″ theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” theme_builder_area=”post_content” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″ custom_margin=”-20px|||||”]

Lots of neighbourly love around Thame, from sharing gorgeous photos of the area or areas nearby we should all visit, recommending local businesses or trades people, updating locals with news and traffic updates. <\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>Just checking in with a neighbour, especially those living on their own, can keep spirits up, shows them you care, even asking if they need anything from the shop, if you are heading that way or seeing if they would like to go with you. Even recommending them to local classes or day centres, if this is something your neighbour would be into, it might help them to meet more people and have some more enjoyment to their days; you might just help those at the centres too, as your neighbour might build a friendship with them or meet old friends.<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>Even sharing your knowledge and skills, you could trade your ironing skills for your neighbours love of gardening.<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>Those that lend items to others, giving items away or to those in need, even adding something extra to your shopping trolley and popping it in the donation box. There are so many more things you all do and I bet sometimes you don\u2019t know how much it means to someone else, sometimes just being in your presence.\u00a0<\/span>
