{"id":3674,"date":"2024-05-07T11:51:06","date_gmt":"2024-05-07T10:51:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thame.net\/discover\/?post_type=event_listing&#038;p=3674"},"modified":"2024-05-21T00:54:18","modified_gmt":"2024-05-20T23:54:18","slug":"oas-fun-day","status":"expired","type":"event_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.thame.net\/discover\/event\/oas-fun-day\/","title":{"rendered":"OAS Annual Sanctuary Fun Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Calling all animal lovers\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the BIG 2024 Annual Sanctuary Fun Day!<br>Please come to show your support for the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Date: <\/strong>Sunday 19th May<br><strong>Time: <\/strong>1.30pm to 4pm<br><strong>Location:<\/strong> The Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary<br>Free Admission (but donations gratefully received)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stalls<\/strong><br>Food and soft drinks<br>Tea, Coffee and Cake tent<br>Raffle<br>Tombola<br>Children\u2019s games<br>Ice Cream<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parking is FREE and on the village green, outside the Sanctuary.<br>Please come along and show your support for a local charity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charity No: 254642<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why can\u2019t I see the animals?<\/strong><br>We\u2019re sorry that you cannot see the animals on our Fun Day.<br>We have taken this decision because in recent years research and experience have given us a much greater understanding of how important it is to maintain a consistently calm and quiet environment for the well-being of animals in our care. Whilst a few of our animals can handle and even enjoy, large numbers of people visiting the majority cannot and it is liable to cause them severe stress. We are not alone in our thinking; other animal charities have taken a similar decision for the same reasons.<br>Over the past couple of years, we\u2019ve noticed how much calmer our animals have been, while the Sanctuary has been closed to visitors, due to COVID-19.
