Thame Green Living has launched an updated website – full of practical ideas, inspiring stories, and simple ways we can all help make Thame a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable town.

Whether you’re curious about saving energy at home, improving biodiversity in your garden, or cutting down on waste, the new Thame Green Living website is packed with useful resources to help you take action right here in our community.

What Is the Thame Green Living Plan?

The Thame Green Living Plan is a community-led roadmap designed to make Thame a more sustainable, healthy, and resilient place to live — both now and for future generations.

It was developed by Thame Green Living, supported by Thame Town Council and a wide range of local community groups, schools, and residents. The plan was officially adopted by the Town Council in 2020 and focuses on practical, achievable actions that everyone in Thame can take part in.

It covers key themes such as:

Biodiversity and green spaces – protecting nature and creating wildlife corridors

Clean air and transport – encouraging walking, cycling, and electric vehicles

Energy and water – promoting renewable energy and conservation

Waste and recycling – reducing what we throw away and reusing more

Community and wellbeing – working together for a thriving, caring town

The updated website brings all these threads together in one accessible, inspiring space — making it easier than ever to understand the plan and join in.

What’s New on the Website

Clear pathways for action
Each theme from the Green Living Plan now has its own section, with local examples, links to live projects, and easy steps to get involved. Whether you want to plant trees, install solar panels, or join a repair café, you can find your next action quickly and easily.

Expanded resources
The refreshed Resources section includes practical guides for households, schools, and businesses — covering everything from saving energy to reducing plastic use. It’s a great place to start if you’re looking for realistic, everyday changes that make a difference.

Local projects & stories
Discover how local people are already making Thame greener — from community energy schemes and wildflower planting to the “Love Thame Hate Waste” campaign and biodiversity projects. These stories show what’s possible when neighbours come together.

A call to collaboration
The site highlights that Thame Green Living is a partnership: local volunteers, community groups, and Thame Town Council all play a part. The invitation is open for more people to join in — to bring fresh energy, ideas, and enthusiasm to the town’s sustainability journey.

Why It Matters

Thame Green Living isn’t about grand gestures or perfection — it’s about collective action.
Every small step matters, and when hundreds of people across Thame take those steps together, the impact is huge.

From lowering emissions to improving wellbeing and community connection, the Green Living Plan helps us all work towards a healthier, more balanced way of living — for people and for planet.
