15/03/13….Man attacked on Phoenix Trail in attempted robbery
THAMES Valley Police is appealing for information after three offenders attempted to rob a 35-year-old man in Thame on Saturday (9/3). At 7.40pm the victim was walking down the Phoenix Trail from Van Diemens Road towards Youens Drive when he was approached by three men on bikes who spoke to him.
As he walked past them, he felt a blow to the back of his head and one of the men cycled to the front of him and asked for his money and phone. He told him he had neither and punched the male nearest him, who then fell off his bike. The three men then cycled off.
The men were all about 5ft 8ins, spoke with local accents and were riding dark coloured mountain bikes.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the offence or anyone who saw the offenders in the area at the time.
Anyone with any information should contact PC Adrian Bray at Didcot police station via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 101.
