15/02/12….Connexions too strong for Thame
NETBALL – Thame Hurricanes V Connexions – Match report – Wednesday, February 8.
The game began with the opposition passing swiftly, but it was Thame’s GS Helen that opened the scoring with a well controlled effort. However Connexions hit back instantly and began to control possession. At this stage Thame needed to produce shorter passes as they were losing the ball in the air.
The second quarter began with a great interception from Sarah at GD and Thame began to calm down and relax. This resulted in a spirited fight back, as they clawed their way back into the game. They were only four points behind at the end of the quarter.
Unfortunately Thame Connexions stepped up a gear to end Thame’s chances of victory. From this Thame still managed to score a couple of goals and were still closing down the opposition regularly. They were playing for pride.
The final quarter was tough for Thame as they had already put so much into the game. The team dug deep and kept their ends high with Mel at WA showing a lot of effort after chasing down a ball and falling over. The final score ended 28-16 to Connexions.
