19/12/11….Sainsbury’s plans for Thame cattlemarket site
THE Consultants acting for Sainsburys recently invited local people to see their latest plans for a proposed superstore on the Cattlemarket site in North Street, Thame.
Sainsbury?s now says that it has issued a brochure on its plans to over 14,500 households in Thame and the surrounding area and that nearly two thousand households and businesses responded to an earlier consultation on the principle of the scheme.
The latest plans, say Sainsbury’s, are a response to comments received and a planning application is now being submitted to the District Council.
The feedback from the consultation earlier this year included a wide range of views and issues including; the need for community uses, the need for additional car parking, traffic, the character of Thame and the relationship with the town centre.
(See Letter To The Editor for a response to the latest plans from CMAG the Cattle Market Action Group) and http://sainsburys-thame.co.uk/index.html for full details of Sainsbury’s proposals.
