05/09/11….Police seek help with Thame murder investigation

THAMES valley police are asking for members of the public to come forward with information that may help them in they investigation into the double murder at a Thame house yesterday.

The two women who died are believed to be local women, aged 29 and 50. They have not yet been formally identified.

Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later this afternoon to determine how they died.

A 19-year-old woman who was also injured in the incident is in a stable condition and recovering in the JR2 Hospital.

A 21-year-old man arrested by officers on suspicion of murder is still in custody at Abingdon police station. Nobody else is being sought for questioning at this time.

Senior Investigating Officer, Det Ch Insp Joe Kidman, said: ?At this time it appears that all parties are known to each other and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this case.

?I have a team of detectives working hard to establish the full circumstances of this incident and what led to the tragic deaths of these two women. Neighbourhood policing teams will continue to be visible in the area through out the day.

?We are grateful to members of the public who have come forward and provided us with information and we would ask others who can assist us with our investigation to make contact.
