MICHAEL Mansfield QC, is the high profile English barrister who led the appeal against the conviction in 2001 of Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi for the murder of 270 people in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie.

The release of al-Megrahi on compassionate groundS brings the whole tragedy back into the public eye. Michael Mansfield is also the barrister involved in many other highly publicised cases such as Jill Dando?s murder, Stephen Lawrence, Bloody Sunday, the Omagh bombing, the Marchioness disaster, Jean Charles de Menezes inquiry and Princess Diana?s crash hearing.

Recently retired, he has a truly unique and fascinating story to tell. He is touring the country to talk of his experiences in a presentation called Brief Encounter ? an audience with Michael Mansfield, QC.

One of the first of these shows will take place at The Players Theatre, in Nelson Street, Thame at 7.45pm on Sunday 20th September. Tickets for the show cost
