November deadline for school applications

THE deadline for parents wishing to apply for a school of their choice in September 2009 is fast approaching.
For Oxfordshire primary and junior schools, the closing date is 14 November 2008, while for Oxfordshire secondary schools it is 3 November 2008.
Oxfordshire County Council’s Principal Admissions Manager, Pat Greene, said: “It’s really important that parents let us have their preferences by the deadline otherwise it could reduce their children’s chances of being allocated to their preferred school.”
Pat added: “This year more than 92% of children were allocated their first preference primary school, and more than 93% were allocated their first preference secondary school.”

or collect a brochure, available from their local Oxfordshire primary school, and complete the preference form in the back of the brochure.
