Twinning Quiz ‘Succ
A ST PATRICK’S day quiz, held by the Thame and District Twinning Association, was enjoyed by over 80 teamsters at the Barns Centre, and helped raise much needed funds for the group.
The winning team, yet again, consisted of teachers and ex-teachers from Beaconsfield High School.
The quiz questions, compiled by Chairman, Nigel Champken-Woods, included a round on the saint himself, including the surprising fact that he was, in fact, born in Wales and not on the Emerald Isle.
The evening included a fish and chip supper and a ‘green’ raffle, with prizes ranging from two pairs of green, gents socks to a magnificent plant donated by Waitrose of Thame.
A group from Montesson, Thame’s twin town in France, are coming to Thame in May, and the Twinning Association would like to hear from anyone who would like to host either single people, couples or families for the week-end.
The week-ends are always fun and this coming visit will include an organised trip to Claydon House, which has associations with Florence Nightingale.
