02 May 2008 to 24 May 2008 - Oxfordshire Artweeks
During May and June each year, Oxfordshire artists and crafts
people open their homes and studios to the public to share
their art. There are around 400 stunning exhibitions throughout
the county, some in larger public spaces, and entry is free

03 May 2008 - Tools for Self Reliance
A stall will be set up in Thame Upper High Street Car Park
by the Rotary Club of Thame which has supported this charity
for several years. If you have, or know someone who has, old
tools (not garden tools) that are no longer required, please
bring them along. When collected, Thame Rotarians then take
them to a team of skilled folk who give their time voluntarily
and refurbish them. They are then shipped to needy countries
in Africa and are given free to people who desperately need
them to work with. In 2006 Thame Townsfolk contributed to
sending 61,140 sets of refurbished tools to five different
African Countries. Each year, Tools for Self Reliance helps
approximately 10,000 tradesmen and women to earn a living.
Help is needed to keep up this record.
